Microsoft plans to introduce a Minecraft Marketplace on the Microsoft webstore, a marketplace that will allow
3rd parties such as builders and texture pack designers and other creators to release
content and get paid by selling it to users.
This is an amazing addition to the Minecraft community, initially this marketplace
will support Minecraft Pocket Edition and Windows 10 Edition there is no word on support for
other versions such as the PC version or any console version, but we may hear more as the release date approaches.

May 11th is the launch date for Minecraft on the Nintedo Switch!

The Nintendo switch is about to get a little more blocky though, Mojang announced on April 13th that the Nintendo Switch Minecraft version would be coming out on May 11th 2017! The Nintendo Switch version of Minecraft will be available on the Nintendo eShop, similar to the Xbox live market place. It’ll include special Switch only Super Mario skins/textures! Which will only be available on the Switch. It’ll feature local multiplayer support for 4 local intranet players, and it’ll contain the exact same features as it’s other console versions. Plus the addition of the Super Mario skin/texture pack.

Nickname: “One step closer to 1.12!”

Today Mojang has released the latest weekly snapshot titled 17W15A nicknamed “One step closer to 1.12!” This update contains various bug fixes and large additions to Minecraft!
This update has notable changes such as the color changes to glass panes, book recipe fixes, colored bed (based on different colored wool used) as well as descriptions to each individual advancements/achievements that is available currently InGame.
Some notable bug fixes are also Tamed dogs attacking cats as well as torches being unable to be placed on the backside of stairs, these notable changes are significant to Minecraft survival servers and we’re glad Mojang has fixed these bugs! (MC-8345 & MC-109663)
